We use sketchbooks, studies & explorations, play & painting plans as a process to produce completed paintings to be proud of. Through the basic techniques of painting, to how to layer & what order to build layers. What materials are compatible, what repel & how to work with these for interesting effects.
The classes will include…
- Painting demonstrations, tips & techniques for combining materials including watercolour, inks, acrylic, pastels, acrylic mediums, drawing implements & collage..
- Making interesting marks and adding textural elements.
- Practical ways to Improve your approach to painting
- Colour mixing & how to create unity in painting.
- A process to use sketches, studies & painting plans to assist your ‘Flow”
- How to create a body of work in your style & theme.
- How to know when a painting is complete, troubleshooting & how to appraise your work.
- Your Input is welcome…Linda encourages you to paint what you love. So invites you to make suggestions for subjects, styles, mediums of what you would like to explore & where possible will cover them in the group. This class is for you if…
- You want to explore your creative side, have some painting experience for example in watercolour, acrylic, pastels. You may have dabbled on your own and will benefit from a supportive group. For those with some basic techniques who want to improve. Or you are an experienced painter who wants to liven up your art. Come along and join others painting, exploring & learning together.
- ● Try out and experiment with a variety of paints and drawing materials
● Learn ways to add mixed media into your own art.
● Introduce more enjoyment into your art by letting go of “trying to get it right” to allow fun, play and exploration!
Your Tutor:
Linda’s lifelong career as an Artist has taken her around the world with amazing experiences. A popular tutor with over 25 years experience Linda is well known for her enthusiasm & passion for Art along with her encouraging manner. She hosts warm, friendly and highly enjoyable inspirational courses, painting holidays and workshops.
Linda does not show you how to paint like her but encourages and supports artists to express their own creative voice. Using practical ways to help you bring the best out in your painting. With in-depth knowledge of a host of materials, she demonstrates ways to try something new in easy-to-understand steps and as an expert on colour, shows you how to use colour most successfully in your art.
By focussing on what works, plus using the right tools for the job, she inspires artists who return again and again.
You will often find Linda under wide open skies in the Yorkshire Dales, creating expressive Mixed- Media paintings of limestone scenery!
